CU Men's and Women's Choirs Greenville Concert reviews
John Hiatt and TTB at Chastain Park
The opening act of Derek and Susan was worth the price of the ticket alone. Great music. Their usual great selves were John Hiatt. I have seen this band six times in the last 23 months but this show was a little different. The highlight for me was when a roadie brought Derek Duane Allman's 1957 Goldtop Les Paul to play. He used it for one song during the regular show and for the two song encore. First they did four acoustic songs in succession, including Susan's oldie "You Got The Silver." Horn section was spot on and I enjoyed hearing backup singer Mike Mattison do a little more than usual. Being in Atlanta (near the Allman Brothers Museum where the guitar is kept) made this possible. It was worth the five hour drive to hear this amazing band again.
